H57 Hoodia NASCAR Busch Team Parachutes into Miami to Help the Fight Against Breast Cancer

H57 Parachute

Nutley, New Jersey … H57 Hoodia announced today that they will be participating in a charity event and will present a donation Thursday morning November 16, 2006 at 8:00am in the field directly across from Homestead Miami Speedway's Main Gate.

H57 Hoodia has enlisted the assistance of Miami area sky-diver Randy Melfi. Randy will parachute in, then the staff of H57, ML Motorsports along with members of the University of Miami's ZTA Sorority will present a check donation to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in the amount of $5,000.00, (The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is ZTA's charity of choice). As an added bonus if SkyDiver Randy Melfi, can hit a bullseye, H57 will donate an additional $1000.00. Also on hand for the event will be the entire NASCAR Busch Series #70 H57 Hoodia race team, including NASCAR Rookie Driver Justin Diercks. Justin and the team will be there with the #70 car. Justin will be available for pictures, autographs and interviews.

H57 Donation

H57 President and CEO Kelly Lockwood got involved with the donation through his cousin Erin Lockwood, a member of the sorority. "When I saw that the Homestead race was the last race on the Busch Series schedule, we wanted to do something big," Lockwood said. "I contacted Erin, she told me that her sorority supported the Komen Foundation, a charity which we have donated to before, and we came up with the parachute idea. Once again we are proud to be able to make a donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation."
