ML Motorsports and H57 Hoodia Rock into Menphis for the Sam's Town 250
H57 Hoodia, sponsor of the #70 ML Motorsports Busch series team, with driver Justin Diercks, took to the track on Saturday, October 28th for the Sam's Town 250. While in the Memphis area during the race weekend, H57 along with ML Motorsports made their way around the Greater Memphis area beginning with a phone interview on the Ron, Karen and Steve show on FM100. At 8:30am CST the team's driver, NASCAR Rookie Justin Diercks talked about the team's charitable donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation on Ron, Karen and Steve's behalf. The radio trio were honorary co-chairs of the "Race for the Cure" that took place in Germantown, Tennessee.
After the "Race for a Cure" presentation, H57 went back to Memphis Motorsports Park, where they presented a cash gift to Navy MWR, (Morale, Welfare, Recreation) headquartered at Naval Support Activity Mid South (Millington, TN). Navywide MWR Commercial Sponsorship Coordinator, Bill Winters, accepted the check. "This gift to the Navy was used to purchase global prepaid telephone cards that were distributed to Sailors serving in Southwest Asia during the December holidays. Navy MWR, with assistance from its corporate partners like H57 Hoodia, works hard to improve the quality of life of Sailors and their families worldwide. Being able to call home and talk with loved ones during the holidays will be a real treat for all," stated Winters. Accompanying Mr. Winters will be two Sailors (race fans) from Naval Support Activity Mid South.
"To give to two great causes such as these is an honor, not only for my company, but for me personally," said Kelly Lockwood, CEO of JEC Nutrition, manufacturers of H57 Hoodia. Lockwood continued, "…especially knowing that I am helping breast cancer awareness by supporting "Race for the Cure", and also supporting our military by allowing the troops to keep in touch with their families and loved ones stateside."
